Running and Oatmeal

Who would have thought so many would stand up in defense of oatmeal. Oatmeal and running are two things I don't like very much, but that I'm trying to make a bigger part of my life. I'm in my second week of running consistently twice per week. It's not much, but it's definitely more than the random run once or twice a month that I've been doing.

In both cases, the answer of how to like them is "Just do it." Just eat the oatmeal, just get out the door to run, and all will be well. Eventually. Right?

Two days a week on a consistent basis is much better than on again off again. Keep up the running & oatmeal & you wont look like your uncle in 25 years LOL. Seriously, I have been walking consistently & eating oatmeal for breakfast and have lost 2″ from my waiste in 1.5 years. I know I could loose much faster with other changes but I rather be consistent with two positive habits than try everything at once & quit. The walking & oatmeal may be a lifestyle for me in a few years! Someone like you Tyler simply needs to maintain.

You’ve given me hope that exercise and oatmeal are actually good things! Sounds like you’ve had some impressive results. Thanks for the comment!

Since writing this, I’ve slipped from oatmeal to Total cereal to no breakfast at all. I think it’s time to start the oatmeal diet again. My running is suffering, too. Do I dare hope it will get better after finals are over? Let’s hope so.
